Volunteer Information
Sarah Heinz House could not carry out its programs without a dedicated corps of volunteers. We typically have 100 volunteers each year who work with the kids in after school programs. This is a wonderful way to form mentoring relationships, and to go home at the end of day feeling positive about the impact you’ve made.
Who can volunteer?
Someone who is at least 18, has a heart for kids, and will pass all necessary clearances to work with children. You also must meet with the staff as part of the selection process.
We seek program volunteers (October through April) where the commitment is weekly. We also welcome volunteers on special projects and events. For example, you could serve on a committee to plan marketing or fund raising events. You may prefer to help with data entry or administrative work. Or, you could volunteer to assist with field trips or special “one-time” events.
